Had a working life of just over two years. After serving on 18 convoys she met her end when she was torpedoed and sunk.
 
On the 1st August 1942 when in convoy she was hit by torpedoes from German submarine U-564 when 200 miles north of the Azores on 19th July 1942. Two tugs took her in tow but she sank before she could reach port on 1st August 1942.
 
Six men were killed by the torpedo.
