While escorting a convoy from Benghazi to Alexandria she struck a mine and sank off Derna. There were some casualties but none fatal. The crew was picked up HMS Southern Maid.
 
Sunk by mine, NE of Benghazi, Libya 9th February 1943.
 
Ironically the mine field had been laid in 1940 by the British mine laying submarine HMS Rorqual.
