[Sistership Norsol shown]

In 1941 she was transferred to the British Tanker Co. and in 1942 to the Norwegian Government and renamed Nortind.

On January 25th, 1943, Nortind was on route from CURACAO & NEW YORK for STANLOW carrying a cargo of 11,000 tons of clean oil and was reported missing from Convoy HX-233 after being seen the last time at 01.00 hours east of Cape Farewell.

On the 26th January 1943, Nortind was torpedoed by German submarine U-358 and caught fire immediately.

Approx. four hours later, the tanker broke in two and sank. The master, 39 crew members and two Dutch passengers were lost.
