Built at Harland and Wolff Govan, then towed to Belfast for fitting out.
 
Launched  as Melbourne Star for Union Cold Storage Co. Ltd. (Blue Star Line Managers), restyled  as Union International Co. Ltd. in  1949 -  – still under Blue Star Line Management.
 
Sold in 1972 to Embajada Compania Naviera S.S., Greece and renamed Melbo
 
In 1972  sold to Tung Cheng Steel & Iron Works, Taiwan to be broken up at Kaohsiung.
 
Handed over to the shipbreakers who commenced work on 18 January 1973, demolition completed  7 April 1973.
