Built for Continental services from Goole and Hull. Engined by Ruston & Hornsby of Lincoln, this well proportioned coaster was the second of three similar ships built for these owners at A. & J. Inglis yard. .
 
The naming ceremony was carried out on Monday 1st December while the launch was delayed by one day due to fog.
 
Renamed Gulf Sea in 1972, Orwell Quay in 1976, Star later the same year and finally Serius in 1977.
 
Unlike some of her sister ships which were converted to container vessels , Sirius kept her bipod mast and cargo handing gear.
 
Scrapped at Tripoli, Lebanon in 1988.
