 Myrina

The first supertanker to be built in the UK and at the time the worlds largest vessel was the 190,000 dwt  Myrina.

Because the length of the ship (1,050 feet) could not be accommodated within the length of the largest shipyard slipway, the Myrina was constructed by sliding the after part of the vessel down the slipway, stopping it, and constructing the forward end on the vacated part of the slipway before finally launching.

17th August 1981 arrived Inchon for scrapping.
