One funnel, four masts, twin screw, and a speed of 13 knots Tauric was a livestock carrier, on the Liverpool to Portland run.
 
Started her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York on 22nd May 1891. On her maiden voyage, she carried two cabin and one steerage class passenger,  the largest number she carried westbound were seven cabin and ten steerage class in 1893.
 
She was transferred to the dominion line in 1903.
 
Re-named Welshman in 1904. She was then transferred to the Leyland line in 1921.
 
She was scrapped in 1929.
