This ship was one of three sisters: Mississippi, Maryland. She was built at Mackie & Thomson's yard at Govan which was then taken over by Harland & Wolff.
After launch she was towed (by the tugs Herculaneum, Huskisson and Herald) to Belfast for fitting, arriving 29th February 1913.
 
2nd October 1933 she arrived at Bo'ness for breaking by P & W MacLellan Ltd.
