The Seattle Star was one of the "D"-boats built for Lamport & Holt Line. They were revolutionary in design for the time, with the funnel being incorporated in the superstructure and housed a small part of the accommodation.  
 
Built as Delane  for Lamport & Holt Line Ltd., Liverpool she was transferred in 1954 to Blue Star Line and renamed Seattle Star for the North Pacific coast of North America route. Refrigeration plant installed by Harland and Wolff.
 
In 1961 she was sold to Compagnie Metallurgique et Minière, France for £90,000 and renamed Kettara Vi. Registered under the Panamanian flag.
 
Sold in 1961 to Hong Kong Rolling Mills Ltd., and arrived H.K. 13 October 1961 to be broken up, demolition commenced : 27 December 1961.
