Launched as the Empire Strength  for the Ministry of War Transport (Blue Star Line Ltd. managers).
 
She was Purchased on the 15 March 1946 by Frederick Leyland & Co. Ltd., (Blue Star Line Ltd. managers) and renamed Saxon Star.
 
In 1950 she was transferred to Lamport & Holt Line Ltd., Liverpool.
 
Transferred in 1954 to Booth S.S. Co. Ltd., Liverpool.
 
Transferred again in 1959 to Blue Star Line Ltd.
 
Sold in August 1961 to D. L. Street Ltd., Cardiff for £117,000 and renamed Redbrook.
 
In 1965 sold to Hegif Compania Naviera S.A., Greece and renamed E. Evangelia.
 
In October 15th 1968, the ship was on passage from Rijeka to Constantza when she ran aground just south of Constanza and became a total loss.
