Completed in time to take place in the landings at Sicily, Salerno and Anzio.
 
The funnel was offset to the starboard side to provide clear deck and could carry 13 at 30t tanks, 27 at 3t lorries and 193 troops
 
 In 1944 she was refitted as a Fighter Direction Ship and in 1946 was converted at Portsmouth to a Radar Training Ship, for personnel involved in plotting and air target duties. She was unique in having 4 masts. She carried radar outfits equivalent to those of a Fleet Carrier, a Cruiser and two Destroyers! At one time she carried 16 radar sets, 23 W/T transmitters and 26 W/T receivers.
 
 In 1956 she was placed in reserve and arrived at Barrow on December 5th 1958 for breaking up.
