Named HMS Hunter in 1947.
 
Became mercantile Empire Curlew in 1956 when it was recalled to service being transferred into the MOD(Army) during the Suez crisis as a military transport ferry (having previously been cocooned in the River Clyde). She was operated by the Atlantic Steam Navigation Company on behalf of the Ministry of Transport. She was later managed by the British India Steam Navigation Company from 1961 until 1962.
 
Sold Italy 1962 for scrapping at La Spezia.
