In 1900 she was sold to D. Cordes & Co, Bremen, renamed Otto Gildemeister.
 
The following year she was dismasted and towed into San Francisco, where she was purchased by Hind, Rolph & Co. and rerigged as the bark Homeward Bound.
 
From 1909 to 1935 was in the hands of Alaska Packers as the Star of Holland.
 
Sold in 1935 to Japanese buyers from the Alaska Packers' Association. She finally started on her voyage To Japan on Friday 15th January 1937. It was originally intended to break up the old sailer, but it was reported the she was likely to be renamed the Star of Holland Maru and used as a sail training ship
