The vessel was under construction at Caird & Co. of Greenock when the yard was taken over by Harland & Wolff in 1916, Caird's ship number was retained.

1927 Ditta Luigi Pittaluga Vapori, Genoa
August 1943 in German control at Genoa
 
Sunk by air attack while lying at Livorno, 28th June 1943.
Refloated and taken to Genoa for repairs
