The vessel was intended for the Australian Black Ball Line of ships. She was classed A1 at Lloyd’s of London for twenty years and had a full poop, a topgallant, forecastle and iron lower masts, bowsprit and yards and was described at the time as ‘altogether a splendid specimen of naval architecture. ’6th October 1886 wrecked on Gingerbread Shoal on passage Cardiff to New Orleans.
