 Cariboo

Sister of the Cochrane she was originally to have have been named Cavally

Cariboo was chartered to Union Castle in 1928 and was loading chrome ore in the East London anchorage when a severe storm forced her and the Windsor Castle to put to sea in very limited visability. Unfortunately Cariboo struck rocks about 5 miles offshore at Keis Kamma and was wrecked. All lives were saved by the Windsor Castle.
