Two boilers fed steam to two sets of triple expansion engines. There was a long trunk deck  on which the bridge-house was constructed.
 
18 September 1944 she was involved in a collision with tanker Ampetco (1926/8,718 gt), caught fire and sank off Cape San Roman, Curacao, while on voyage Lake from Maracaibo to Aruba.
