Febuary 16th 1885 the Belgian steamer Westerland, put into Plymouth. She had been in collision (7 Miles south of  Eddystone Rocks) with the steamer Holmhurst which was sunk. Four of the Holmhurst's crew were drowned. The Westerland was seriously damaged.
